Specialties

It’s rare that any of us has one problem occurring in isolation. The challenges we face are often a compilation of emotional difficulties, relational problems, executive function challenges, and our reactions to life circumstances. As your therapist I work to construct a comprehensive framework that includes all the different layers, giving you a more structured way of understanding whats happening. I work with you to develop effective tools, responses, or coping strategies that can make a difference regardless of how complicated things feel.

Anxiety

When it feels like you have to prepare for every possible future or you worry constantly about how something will go, you might have anxiety. I help people cope with anxiety by getting in touch with their bodies and learning to trust how you body handles stress. We can work to overcome anxiety by identifying where the anxious thoughts are coming from and figuring out how we can stop those thoughts from being so powerful.

Depression

If you feel numb, unmotivated, sleepy, or sad for long periods of time, you might be experiencing depression. I help people cope with depression by learning how to keep our brain and body healthy and energized. We can work to overcome depression by figuring out what your mind is working to numb out and find better ways of dealing with it.

Anger

We all know when we are feeling angry, but it can be scary when it feels overwhelmingly strong and we aren’t sure what to do about it. I help people cope with anger by learning to pay careful attention to the triggers and emotional processes, so they are never caught off guard by the feeling. We can work to overcome anger by identifying the ways we feel extra vulnerable and learning more effective ways to protect our selves.

ADHD

We now know that ADHD affects so much more than just how we perform in school. It changes how we process emotions, how we engage in relationships, and how we experience motivation. I can help clients understand how their brains work, allowing them to know and leverage their strengths while effectively coping with their weaknesses.

Autism

Autism can feel like a lonely path, separated by invisible barriers from the neurotypical people all around you. I work with neurodiverse clients to better understand what it looks like to own and love your autism, leveraging your strengths and coping with your weaknesses. I want to help you build a life that is a unique best-fit for you and leaves you feeling proud and satisfied.

Executive Functioning

Neurodiverse and neurotypical people alike can struggle with executive functions like motivation, task completion, and planning. I can help you understand why some things are harder for you and how you can work through or around these challenges to build a thriving life and career.

Behavioral Issues

A young person who “misbehaves” is often feeling lonely, scared, anxious or overwhelmed. Without the tools to deal with their own internal pain they try to drown it out or beg for help using their actions. I work with young folks to help them understand and speak about their feelings. We work together to practice and plan for better ways to manage emotional pain.

Parent Support

It’s always your own kid who stumps you. Sometimes it’s because you are just too close to the problem. Other times it’s because you child is dealing with things you never planned for. Either way, I’m here to help and can guide you through developing boundaries, getting your child’s buy-in, helping your child regulate their emotions, and manage consequences

School - Work - Career

Making choices about what to do with your life is almost always daunting. I work with young folks and adults to build a self-awareness framework that can give them the confidence to make thoughtful choices about the future.
